The Marina Betta Modern Art Ornament is an aquarium ornament shaped as an abstract modern shape, moulded in durable resin with a weighted pebble base, sized for the 2 litre Marina betta kits.
Key Features
- Measures 5.7 x 5.7 x 10.7 cm (2.25 x 2.25 x 4.25 inches)
- Made for the 2 L (half US gallon) Marina Betta aquarium kits, sitting in the gravel holder
- Pebble base for stability, so it does not shift or tip
- Aquarium-safe durable resin
- Gives a betta something to explore and a place to break the line of sight, which matters more in a small tank than in a large one
- Made by Marina, Rolf C. Hagen's entry-level aquatics brand and a sister brand to Fluval
Before It Goes In
- Rinse it in plain water. Never use detergent or soap on anything going into a tank
- Run a finger and then a piece of tights or thin fabric over every edge and opening. If the fabric snags, the ornament will tear a betta's fins — those long fins are delicate and tears invite infection
- Check any hole is either big enough for the fish to turn around in or too small to enter at all. A betta wedged in a gap is a real risk
- Set it firmly in the substrate so it cannot topple
- Take it out and scrub it with a clean brush in tank water when algae builds up
Good To Know
- Sharp resin edges are the thing to check on any betta ornament. A quick snag test with fabric takes ten seconds and prevents torn fins
- Live or silk plants are gentler on fins than hard resin. A mix of both is the usual advice
- Sized for the 2 L kits. In a larger tank it will look small but it will do no harm
- The product photograph shows several designs in this range. One ornament is supplied and the design is not selectable
