The Georplast Tricky Interactive Cat Toy with Two Balls is a track toy with two balls a cat can spin round but never quite catch - the kind of thing that occupies a cat on its own while you are doing something else.
Key Features
- Two balls running in a moulded track
- Balls are captive - nothing to lose under furniture and nothing small enough to swallow
- Works for solo play, which is what makes it useful during the working day
- Non-toxic moulded plastic
- Three colours: Beige, Green and Light Blue
- All three colours currently in stock
Getting The Most From A Track Toy
- Play happens in short bursts. Two or three five-minute sessions a day beats leaving a toy out permanently and hoping
- Put it away between sessions for the first week or two. A toy that is always available becomes furniture
- Catnip or silvervine on the first introduction helps. After that the movement does the work
- Most cats play hardest at dawn and dusk. Fighting that is harder than working with it
One Ball Or Two
- Two balls, as here and on the UFO, give a cat two things to track and tend to hold attention slightly longer
- The Vertigo has a single ball and is the cheapest of the three
- All three work the same way. If you are buying for a kitten, start with the cheapest and see whether they take to the format at all
Who Makes It
- Georplast s.r.l. is an Italian manufacturer founded in 1970, based at Mezzago just outside Milan
- They injection-mould their own plastic rather than buying it in, and the whole pet range is made in Italy
- Design is done with an Italian studio, which is why the trays and carriers look less utilitarian than most of the category
Good To Know
- Check it over regularly for cracks or loose pieces, and replace it if the track or housing splits
- Supervise a cat that chews toys rather than batting them
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Nothing here needs more than that
- Colours vary by batch and the photograph is a guide. Pick on size first - the colour is the part that matters least to the cat
