Why a Dalmatian Genuinely Needs Its Own Food

Of all the breed formulas, this is the one with the clearest reason to exist.

Dalmatians have an inherited quirk in how they process purines — compounds found in many proteins. Most dogs break them down fully; nearly all Dalmatians cannot, and excrete uric acid instead. That makes them prone to urate bladder stones, which can cause painful urination and, in male dogs especially, a dangerous urinary blockage.

This formula uses specially adapted protein sources to support a healthy urinary system in the breed.

Feeding Guide

• Follow the feeding table on the pack.
• Water matters as much as food. Plenty of fresh water keeps urine dilute and is one of the best defences against stones. Encourage drinking.
• Avoid high-purine extras such as organ meats and sardines.
• Change over gradually across 7 days.

Please note: straining to urinate, frequent small amounts, or blood in the urine need a vet promptly. A male dog straining and passing nothing is an emergency.

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place and reseal the bag after each use.
