Royal Canin Maxi Starter is a dry food from the Size Health Nutrition range for two at once: a large breed mother (26–44 kg) in late pregnancy and lactation, and her puppies through weaning.

Why One Food for Both

A nursing mother of a large litter has some of the highest energy needs a dog ever has. Her puppies, meanwhile, need their first solid food. Feeding them the same food simplifies weaning — puppies naturally investigate what their mother eats — and the kibble rehydrates into a porridge that newly weaning puppies can manage.

Feeding Guide

• Mother: introduce gradually across 7 days in the second half of pregnancy. Let her eat as she needs during lactation.
• Puppies: from the start of weaning, offer kibble soaked in warm water to a porridge, reducing the water as they grow.
• Follow the feeding table on the pack. Always provide fresh water.
• Move puppies onto Maxi Puppy at around 2 months.

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place and reseal the bag after each use. Discard soaked food not eaten within a few hours.
