Exo Terra Buffalo Skull Hide - For Reptile & Amphibian - Small

The Exo Terra Buffalo Skull is a realistic fossilised skull hide, in the smaller size — a decorative piece that does a real job.

A Hide Is Not Decoration

This is worth stating plainly, because it is the most commonly skipped part of a reptile setup.

Reptiles and amphibians are prey animals as well as predators, and an animal with nowhere to conceal itself lives under constant low-grade stress. Stressed reptiles eat less, shed badly and become more prone to illness — and a keeper who cannot see their animal because it is hiding often concludes it does not need a hide, which is precisely backwards. A secure hide makes a reptile more confident and more visible over time, not less.

Ideally give an animal at least two hides — one at the warm end and one at the cool end — so it never has to choose between feeling safe and being the right temperature.

Key Features

• Realistic fossilised skull with detailed texture
• Multiple entrances for easy access
• Provides a secure hiding place and helps prevent stress
• Integrates into any terrarium — desert, rainforest or aquatic
• Made from food-grade resin, safe for pets
• Small size, suited to smaller species and compact enclosures

Suitable For

Smaller snakes, lizards, geckos and frogs. For larger species, the standard-size Buffalo Skull gives more room.

Care

• Rinse in warm water and scrub gently. Resin is non-porous, so it cleans easily.
• Avoid detergents and household cleaners — residues are absorbed through amphibian skin and are harmful.
• Check the hide is stable and cannot be tipped or dug out from underneath, particularly by burrowing species.
