Himalayan Unhide Rawhide-Free Dog Chew is Himalayan's answer to rawhide: a rolled chew with the familiar shape, made in Washington State from natural cheese and antler instead of hide. The point of it is digestibility - rawhide is the chew owners worry about because pieces swell and pass slowly, and Himalayan built this to give the same long chew without that.

-
Long-Lasting: a proper occupation chew rather than a treat, and Himalayan say it supports healthy teeth and gums as your dog works it.
-
Limited Ingredients, Free From: lactose, grain, gluten, corn and soy, with no artificial flavours, preservatives or binding agents.
-
Three Sizes: Small 3oz, Medium 6oz and Large 10oz - pick above.
Chewing Safely
-
Supervise it, and take the stub away. Easier to digest is not the same as safe to swallow whole. The end piece is the part to remove.
-
Size up, not down. The chew should be too big to fit to the back of your dog's mouth. Small 3oz suits small dogs; a determined large dog should be on the 10oz.
-
It contains antler, which is hard. If your dog has had a cracked tooth before, or has dental work, ask your vet before offering it.
-
One chew per dog, separately. This is the kind of chew dogs guard.
Good To Know
- Size is a variant on this listing - 3oz, 6oz and 10oz - and they do not all hold stock at the same time.
- Treats of any kind should stay a small part of the day - around a tenth of the calories is the usual guidance. Take the difference out of meals rather than adding treats on top.
- A new chew of this size can loosen a stool for a day. Introduce it on a quiet day.
- Store somewhere cool and dry and do not refrigerate. In UAE heat keep it out of the sun and out of a hot car, where cheese chews sweat and soften.
- Himalayan recommend these for dogs over 12 weeks old.
- Fresh water alongside, always.
- Not for human consumption, and wash your hands after handling a chewed treat.
