The Chris Christensen Smart Rinse De-Shed Concentrated Conditioner for Dogs and Cats is the de-shedding conditioner from Chris Christensen's Smart Rinse line: conditioning and moisturising agents that help loose coat release while leaving the skin comfortable.

Key Features

  • Dilutes up to 8:1 - a lighter concentrate than the SmartWash50 shampoos.
  • Helps loose, dead coat come away without irritating the skin.
  • Can be used before the bath on a badly matted coat, as well as after shampooing.
  • Conditions the skin as well as the coat.
  • Banana coconut fragrance.
  • For dogs and cats, all skin and coat types.
  • 473 ml or 3.8 L.
  • Made in the USA.

How To Use

  • Dilute up to 8:1 - roughly 125 ml into 1 litre of warm water.
  • After shampooing, work it through the coat and leave it a few minutes.
  • For a heavily matted coat, it can also be worked in before the bath.
  • Rinse thoroughly, then dry and brush out.

Good To Know

  • This is an 8:1 concentrate. Dilute it before use - roughly 125 ml into 1 litre of warm water - rather than applying it neat.
  • The 3.8 litre bottle is the professional size and weighs around 4 kg full. The Chris Christensen gallon pump fits it if you would rather not pour.
  • Severe matting should not be bathed in. Water tightens mats against the skin and can cause sores. Get a badly matted coat clipped out by a groomer or a vet first.
  • A de-shedding product loosens coat that is already dead. It does not stop shedding - that is seasonal and hormonal.
  • Avoid the eyes. If any gets in, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water. For external use only.
  • If your pet has sensitive skin or has reacted to a product before, test a little on a small patch first and stop using it if you see redness, itching or scurf.
  • Rinse until the water runs completely clear. Conditioner left in the coat is one of the most common causes of itching after a bath.
  • Dry thoroughly - skin folds, ears, armpits and between the toes. A coat left damp in UAE humidity is how hot spots and yeast get started.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • This is a grooming product, not a treatment. Persistent itching, scratching, hair loss, scabs, a smell or a rash point to a skin problem - fleas, allergies, mites or infection - and need a vet rather than a different product.
