  • Many aquarium plants grow happily above water and some flower; mist emersed plants if the room is dry.

  • Rimless glass has exposed edges — carry the tank by its base with two hands, never by one panel.
  • Cycle a new tank before adding fish: give the filter bacteria around 4–6 weeks to establish and test for ammonia and nitrite first.
