BackBack

The Fida Heavy Duty Padded Dog Collar is a wide, neoprene-padded collar built around a solid metal buckle rather than a plastic clip — the kind of collar that suits a strong dog, or one that is simply hard on its gear.

Key Features

  • Solid metal belt buckle with punched holes, which will not crack the way a plastic side-release clip can
  • Soft neoprene padding on the inside face, so the width spreads pressure instead of concentrating it
  • Two rings: a load-bearing D-ring for the lead and a separate smaller ring for ID tags, so the tags do not rattle against the clip
  • Two layers of woven nylon webbing
  • Reflective stitching along the outside
  • Available in black, blue, grey and yellow

Size Guide

  • S — fits necks 28–37 cm (11–14.5 in), 20 mm wide, 42 cm total length
  • M — fits necks 37–48 cm (14.5–19 in), 25 mm wide, 53 cm total
  • L — fits necks 48–58 cm (19–23 in), 25 mm wide, 62 cm total
  • XL — fits necks 61–71 cm (24–28 in), 38 mm wide, 77 cm total
  • Measure the neck where the collar will sit, with a tape held snugly but not tight, then add the two-finger allowance
  • Measure your dog rather than guessing from its breed. Two dogs of the same breed can be two sizes apart

Fitting

  • Two fingers should slide flat under the strap. Tighter than that rubs; looser than that comes off over the head
  • Recheck a puppy's collar every couple of weeks. A collar that was right last month can be tight this month

Good To Know

  • A buckle collar is for holding ID and for everyday walking. It is not the right attachment for a dog that pulls hard on a long lead — that load belongs on a harness
  • Do not leave a collar on a dog in a crate or on a tie-out where it can catch. Collars are a strangulation risk unattended
  • The width changes with the size: S is 20 mm, M and L are 25 mm, and only the XL is the full 38 mm. A wide collar on a small neck restricts head movement
  • Reflective stitching helps at night but is not a substitute for a light on a dark road
  • Wipe the webbing with warm water and mild soap and let it dry fully. Do not machine wash or tumble dry the hardware
