JUWEL LED Marine Aquarium Tube - 1200 mm - 31 W is an LED retrofit tube for JUWEL aquarium hoods, 1200 mm, 31 W, in the Marine spectrum.

Key Features

• Drops into a fluorescent hood: Same fitting, same length, no rewiring and no new hood. The cheap way off fluorescent if the hood you have is sound.
• Order it by the length: This tube is 1200 mm. Measure the tube you are replacing, or tell us which JUWEL aquarium you have.
• The Marine spectrum: Weighted cool and blue for saltwater, where the water absorbs the warm end of the spectrum before it reaches the bottom.
• Nothing to replace at twelve months: An LED tube holds its output and colour where fluorescent fades and shifts, and it runs cooler, which matters here in summer.

Fitting It And Running It

• Order by the length in millimetres, not by the litres of your tank. Measure the tube you are replacing, or tell us your aquarium model.
• Six to eight hours a day to start with, on a timer. More light than the plants can use grows algae, which is the commonest first-tank mistake.
• Change one tube at a time in a two-tube hood, a week or two apart. Doubling the light overnight invites an algae bloom.

Electrical Safety

• Keep the transformer, the plug and the socket above the water line and outside the cabinet, and leave a drip loop in every cable.
• Unplug it before you put your hands in the tank or work on the hood.

Good To Know

• One tube. A two-tube hood takes two, and the pair do not have to be the same spectrum.
• Ask us before you order if you are unsure the hood will take it. Not every fluorescent fitting suits an LED retrofit.
• Swapping tired fluorescent for new LED is a real increase in light. Cut the hours back for a few weeks or algae will find it first.
