Description
The Astro AS is a submersible internal filter that runs mechanical, biological and chemical filtration in one unit. Mechanical traps debris, biological converts ammonia and nitrite, and chemical polishes out what the other two leave behind, which together is what keeps water genuinely clear rather than merely free of visible bits.
Key Features
- Three-stage filtration: mechanical, biological and chemical.
- Suitable for freshwater and planted aquariums.
- Fully submersible, with no external plumbing.
- Quiet running for display tanks.
Setup & Maintenance
Mount fully below the water line with the outlet just under the surface. Rinse mechanical media in tank water, never under the tap. Replace chemical media on schedule, since carbon stops adsorbing once it is saturated and simply becomes more surface area.
Safety
- Disconnect from the mains before removing or servicing the filter.
- Must remain fully submerged while running.
- Indoor aquarium use only.
