Go Pet Club Elevated Cooling Mesh Pet Cot with Steel Frame - 28.75″L x 18″W x 6″H

The Go Pet Club Elevated Cooling Mesh Pet Cot lifts a pet off the floor on a taut mesh bed stretched over a powder-coated steel frame. Air moves underneath as well as over, which is the whole point: in this climate, getting a dog off hot ground or hot tile does more for them than any fabric bed can.

Key Features

• Breathable mesh bed: Air passes through and underneath, so body heat is carried away rather than trapped.
• Powder-coated steel frame: Rust-resistant and strong enough to stay taut under a full-grown dog.
• Four sizes: From 28.75 to 55 inches long, so it covers small dogs through to large ones.
• Off the ground: Keeps a pet clear of hot paving, cold tile, damp grass and whatever is on the floor.
• Easy to clean: Hose or wipe the mesh down and let it dry, with nothing to wash or stuff back into a cover.
• Packs flat: Light and simple to take apart, so it travels and stores easily.

Sizes

• Small: 28.75 x 18 in, 6 in high (73 x 46 cm)
• Medium: 39 x 24 in, 6 in high (99 x 61 cm)
• Large: 46.5 x 28 in, 7 in high (118 x 71 cm)
• Extra large: 55 x 32 in, 8 in high (140 x 81 cm)

Choosing A Size

Measure your pet lying down, stretched out, and add a few inches. A cot is different from a cushion bed -- there is no give at the edges, so a pet whose legs hang over the rail will not settle on it. Size up if you are between two.

Why Elevated Beds Suit This Climate

• Ground and paving hold heat for hours after the sun has gone. A cot keeps a dog off it.
• Airflow underneath does more for cooling than any amount of fabric, because heat leaves from a dog's belly and paws.
• Indoors it keeps a dog off cold tile in an air-conditioned room, which older joints appreciate.
• It is a comfort measure, not heat protection. A hot dog needs shade, airflow, water and a cooler room, and heatstroke is an emergency -- cool them with water and get to a vet rather than waiting.

For Dogs Or Cats

It works for both. Cats take to a raised bed readily because height is what they want anyway, and a mesh surface in a warm room is somewhere they will choose over a cushion. For a dog it is most useful outdoors, in a crate or in a garage.

Good To Know

• This one is out of stock at the moment, so the page is here for reference while we wait on the next delivery.
• Assembly required. Instructions are included and it goes together without tools in most cases.
• Check the mesh for tears and the frame for rust every so often, and replace it if the mesh goes slack.
• Not a chew toy. A dog who chews the mesh or the frame corners should not be left on it unsupervised.
• Leave it in the shade if it is outdoors. The steel frame gets hot in direct sun.
• Hose or wipe it clean and let it dry fully before a pet uses it again.
• Keep it away from pool edges and steps -- it is light enough to be pushed about.
