Good To Know

• A food trial for a suspected allergy only works if it is the only thing your dog eats - no other treats, chews or table scraps - and it needs six to eight weeks. Run it with your vet.
• Insect protein is still a protein. A dog can react to it, though it is much less likely than with a protein they have eaten before.
• Switch foods gradually over about a week, mixing a little more of the new food in each day, to avoid an upset stomach.
