Dayang Hamster Exercise Ball - 13 cm, Assorted Colours

The Dayang Hamster Exercise Ball is a 13 cm clear plastic exercise ball with a clip-on lid, for mice, dwarf hamsters and gerbils.

Key Features

• Clear shell, so you can see the animal and it can see out.
• Vent slots around the body for airflow.
• 13 cm across - the small size in the range.
• Clip-on lid with a locking tab.
• Supplied in assorted colours.

Good To Know

• Be honest about size. 13 cm suits a mouse or a dwarf hamster. A Syrian hamster in a ball this small runs with its back arched, which is exactly what you are trying to avoid, and needs 20 cm or more.
• Exercise balls divide opinion among small-animal vets, and it is worth knowing why before you buy. The animal cannot stop, cannot steer away from noise or light, and cannot choose to come out - so a session should be a few minutes, on a clear floor, under supervision, and should never replace floor time or a proper wheel.
• Check the vent slots. Toes and limbs can catch in wide slots, and it is worth inspecting the ball for cracks before every use.
• Never use one near stairs, a step, a pool, or where another pet can reach it.
• Small rodents hide illness. A wet tail, laboured breathing, a wet chin, sudden weight loss or a hamster that stays shut in its house all day needs a vet who sees exotics, quickly.
