How To Use

• Fill a clean, dry tray to about 5–7 cm — clumping litter needs that depth to form a clump that lifts out cleanly
• Scoop out clumps and solids daily
• Top up with fresh litter to keep the depth right
• Empty, wash and refill the tray completely every few weeks, or sooner if it starts to smell

Good To Know

• Never flush clumps down the toilet — bentonite swells and will block a drain. Bag them and put them in the bin
• A light scent suits most cats, but some refuse it; if your cat starts going outside the tray, move to the unscented version
• Clumping litter isn't the best choice for a very young kitten that still mouths or eats its litter — a non-clumping litter is safer until it grows out of that
• Change brands gradually: mix the new litter in with the old over a few days so your cat accepts it
• Pour slowly — every clay litter throws up some dust
• In a multi-cat home the usual guidance is one tray per cat plus a spare
• A sudden change in how often your cat uses the tray, or straining in it, is worth a vet visit
