The Fluval FLEX 34L LED Lamp Assembly is the genuine replacement LED lamp assembly for the 34 L (9 US Gal) FLEX aquarium, for when the original light fails or has been damaged.
Key Features
- Made for the 34 L (9 US Gal) FLEX, so it seats in the cover and plugs into the existing power supply
- LED, so it runs cool. Heat from lighting is a real problem in this climate and one of the reasons LED replaced fluorescent
- Supports live plant growth as well as showing fish colours
- A genuine part rather than a generic strip, which matters for the fit and the connector
- Made by Fluval, the aquatics brand of Rolf C. Hagen, which has been building aquarium filters since 1975
Fitting It
- Unplug anything electrical before putting your hands in the tank
- Check the power supply first. A dead light is at least as often a failed power supply as a failed lamp, and the power supply is sold separately
- Note how the old unit sits in the cover before removing it
- Keep the connector dry when refitting, and fit a drip loop in the cable
- Test it before putting the cover back on
Good To Know
- Diagnose before you buy. If the light is dead, try a known-good power supply before replacing the lamp
- LEDs dim gradually over years rather than failing outright. A light that looks weaker than it used to may simply be old
- A genuine Fluval spare part. Check the model number against your unit before ordering — Fluval part numbers look alike and do not cross over between series
- Check which Flex you have. The 34 L and 57 L lamps are different parts
