Description
The FOFOS Milk Bone & Ball Puppy Teething Toy Set is a two-piece teething set: a soft TPR bone and a textured ball, both moulded soft enough for milk teeth and the tender gums behind them.
Key Features
- Soft TPR that gives easily under a puppy's bite
- Ridged bone and a bobbled ball, so there are two different textures to work on
- Sized for small mouths rather than scaled down from an adult toy
- Choose the blue set or the pink set
Teething, And What Actually Helps
- Puppies lose their milk teeth from around four months and are usually through it by seven. The chewing during that stretch is not naughtiness, it is relief
- Cold helps. Run the toys under the tap and put them in the fridge, or dampen a flannel and freeze it - that is the cheapest teething toy there is
- Anything hard enough to mark your fingernail is too hard for a puppy. Soft TPR like this is the right end of the range
Building The Habit
- Every time the puppy mouths you or the furniture, swap in one of these and praise them for taking it. Repetition is the whole training method
- Keep one toy in each room the puppy uses, so the right thing is always closer than the wrong thing
Good To Know
- Thermoplastic rubber (TPR) is soft enough to give under the teeth and firm enough to hold its shape
- Soft TPR tears once the adult teeth come in. Move a dog past teething on to a firmer chew and bin these
- Check it over for splits and deep gouges before each session and replace it when the surface breaks
- Supervise play and take the toy away once it starts to come apart. No dog toy is indestructible, and swallowed pieces can cause a blockage
