The Furrish Knot At All Detangling Spray for Dogs is a no-rinse detangling spray that puts slip on the hair so a comb slides through a knot instead of dragging it - the single most useful thing you can own if your dog has a coat that mats.

Key Features

  • 300ml spray bottle
  • Leave-in and no-rinse - no water, no bath, no waiting
  • Cuts brushing time and, more to the point, cuts how much it pulls
  • Adds shine and leaves the coat easier to comb
  • Most useful on long, curly, wavy and double coats

How To Use It

  • Spray onto a dry coat from about 15 to 20 cm, aiming at the back and working down. Keep it away from the face
  • Or spray it straight onto the brush and work that through - the better method for a dog that dislikes being sprayed, and it uses less
  • Let it sit for thirty seconds before you comb. That pause is what makes the difference
  • Work the knot from the outside edge inwards, holding the hair at the base so the pull lands on your hand

Why Detangler Beats Brute Force

  • A dry knot has hairs locked against each other. A detangler lubricates them so they can slide apart, which is the only version of this that does not hurt
  • A dog that gets hurt during grooming learns that grooming hurts, and from then on every session is a fight. The spray is as much about that as about the coat
  • Use it before the bath, not after. Shampoo tightens an existing tangle, so get the knots out while the coat is dry

When To Stop And Call A Groomer

  • A mat you cannot get a comb under is past brushing. Forcing it hurts, and a dog that is hurt once during grooming remembers
  • Tight matting against the skin traps moisture and heat and can hide sores underneath. In this climate that goes wrong quickly
  • A groomer can clip a matted coat out safely in minutes. It grows back

Who Makes It

  • Furrish is a UK dog grooming range built for home use rather than for salons - the kit you would want between professional appointments
  • The range covers the whole routine: brushes and combs, shampoos, a detangler, wipes, colognes, a towel and clippers

Good To Know

  • This item is currently out of stock
  • Spray away from the face, eyes and ears
  • For dogs. Cats groom off whatever you put on them, so check with your vet first
  • Patch test anything new - a small amount on one spot, then leave it a day and check for redness before using it all over
  • Grooming products are not treatments. Persistent scratching, bald patches, scabs, a greasy or yeasty-smelling coat, or a smell that comes back within a day of a bath all need a vet rather than another product
  • Keep the bottle closed and out of direct sun. A car boot in a UAE summer will cook most grooming products
