Hunter Divo Dog Harness is the one in this range built for a dog that is hard to fit. It adjusts at five points rather than two, it is padded and breathable, it has reflective material running its whole length, and it carries a second D-ring on the chest as well as the usual one on the back.
Key Features
-
Five-Point Adjustment: the reason to buy this one. A deep-chested or narrow-waisted dog that swims about inside a two-point harness can usually be fitted properly in a Divo.
-
Second D-Ring On The Chest: use the back ring as normal, the chest ring on its own to turn a pulling dog back towards you, or both together with a double-ended lead for more control.
-
Padded And Breathable: the padding spreads the load, which matters on a dog that leans into the harness.
-
Reflective Full Length: Hunter use 3M Scotchlite reflective material along the whole harness rather than a token strip.
-
Colours: Dark Blue and Red.

Getting The Fit Right
-
Measure, do not guess. You need two numbers: the neck, and the girth round the deepest part of the chest just behind the front legs. Compare both against the ranges above. Breed and weight are poor guides - two dogs the same weight can be two sizes apart.
-
Two fingers. You should be able to slide two fingers flat under the straps. Tighter than that rubs, particularly in the armpit; looser and a determined dog backs out of it.
-
Watch the armpit. The chest strap should sit clear of the armpit, not against it. That is where harnesses chafe, and where a badly fitted one changes how a dog moves.
-
Check it on a growing dog. Puppies outgrow a harness faster than you expect. Re-check every couple of weeks until they stop growing.
Good To Know
- Pick the size and colour above.
-
Front-clip walking is a steering aid, not a brake. It redirects a pulling dog rather than stopping one, and it works best alongside training. Do not use the chest ring with a long or retractable line - the lead runs between the front legs and tangles.
-
Reflective is not a light. It only works when something shines at it. After dark on an unlit street, add a lit collar or carry a torch.
-
UAE sun is hard on webbing and plastic. Nylon and polyester fade and weaken with constant UV, and plastic clasps get brittle. Check the clasp still clicks firmly shut and look for fraying where the hardware meets the webbing. Rinse salt or pool water out and dry it in the shade rather than on a hot windowsill.
- Padding holds water and heat. Rinse it out after a swim and let it dry fully, because a damp padded harness against the coat in this climate is how hot spots start.
- Five adjustment points take a few minutes to set up the first time. Do it once, properly, and then leave it.
