Julius-K9 Powair Leash - Orange - 1.2 m - Large Carabiner is the quick drying mesh leash made to go with the Powair summer harness, in orange, 1.2 metres long and fitted with the large carabiner.

Key Features

• 1.2 metres, with a handle: A town length rather than a country one. Short enough to keep a dog close on a pavement and long enough to let him cast about on a verge, with a sewn loop handle at the top.
• The same mesh construction as the harness: Light, quick drying and happy to get wet, so it goes in the sea and comes back out again without turning into a wet rope.
• Matches the Powair harness: Made in the same four colours as the harness, and intended to be bought with it.
• Snap carabiner clip: A carabiner rather than a trigger hook, in two sizes so you can match it to the ring on the harness.

Which Carabiner To Pick

• The small carabiner suits the smaller harness sizes and a light dog. It is less weight swinging off the chest ring, which on a very small dog is worth having.
• The large carabiner suits bigger dogs and bigger harnesses. It is easier to work one-handed in a hurry and there is more metal in it.
• The clip is the part that fails first on any leash, so look at it regularly and stop using it the moment the gate stops springing shut cleanly.

Looking After It

• Rinse it in fresh water after the sea or the pool and hang it up to dry. Salt left in webbing stiffens it and wears it.
• Hand wash in cool water with a little mild soap. No machine and no tumble dryer.
• Work the clip now and then with a drop of light oil if it starts to stick, and wipe the excess off so it does not mark the dog.
• Replace it rather than repair it. There is nothing on a leash worth stitching back together once it has started to go.
