JUWEL Poster 2 Ocean Aquarium Background - L - 100x50 cm is a printed background poster for the outside of an aquarium's back glass, 100x50 cm in the L size, showing an open blue ocean scene.
Key Features
- Goes on the outside, not in the water: A poster is a printed sheet for the back pane. Nothing goes in the tank, nothing affects the water, and you can change your mind later.
- Measure before you order: This one is 100x50 cm. Measure the back glass of your aquarium rather than going by the litres, because tanks of the same volume differ.
- Hides the hardware: The cables, the heater and the filter box all disappear against a printed background, which is most of why people fit one.
- Fish prefer cover behind them: Open glass on every side leaves fish with nowhere that reads as safe. A background settles nervous species noticeably.
Putting A Poster Up
- It goes on the outside of the back glass, not in the water. Clean the glass first, because every fingerprint and every fleck of dust shows through.
- Use JUWEL Posterfix, or wet the glass and squeeze the air out from the middle. Trapped bubbles are the one thing that makes a poster look cheap.
- Measure your tank before you order. A poster that is too small leaves a band of wall showing, and you cannot stretch it.
Why Bother With One
- A dark or busy background stops the tank looking like a glass box with a wall behind it, and it hides cables, hoses and the filter.
- Fish settle better against a background. With open glass on all sides they have nowhere that feels like cover, and nervous species show it.
Good To Know
- A poster only. Use JUWEL Posterfix, or water, to hold it on; we stock the Posterfix separately.
- Trim it to fit if it is slightly oversize, but you cannot make it bigger. When in doubt, measure twice and ask us.
- It is printed on one side. Decide which way round you want it before you wet the glass.
