JUWEL Background Cliff Light - 3D Aquarium Background is a moulded three-dimensional background that goes inside the aquarium against the back glass, in the Cliff Light finish - a pale layered cliff face.

Key Features

• Depth a poster cannot give you: A moulded background has real relief, so it catches the light and casts shadows. From the front the tank stops having a flat back.
• Goes in the water: Unlike a poster this is in the tank, which is the point of it and also means it needs rinsing before it goes in and cleaning after.
• Somewhere for fish to be: The crevices give shy fish cover and give territorial fish a line to defend, which cuts down squabbling in a community tank.

Fitting It In The Tank

• This goes inside the aquarium. Rinse it in plain water before it goes in, and do not use soap or detergent on anything destined for a tank.
• Check it has no sharp edge where a fish could catch itself, and make sure anything you stand it against cannot topple onto the glass.
• Leave a gap behind it for water to move. A sealed pocket behind decor goes stagnant and starts to smell when you disturb it.

Good To Know

• Rinse it in plain water before it goes in. No soap, no detergent, nothing that foams.
• Algae grows on relief more readily than on flat glass, and it is harder to scrape. Expect to brush it when you do a water change.
• Leave a gap behind it for water to circulate, or the pocket behind goes stagnant.
