Schesir Chicken Fillets with Duck in Jelly Wet Cat Food - 6 x 50 g

Schesir Chicken Fillets with Duck in Jelly Wet Cat Food - 6 x 50 g is a wet food for adult cats made with chicken fillets with duck in jelly, in the small 50 g tins.

Key Features

• Chicken with duck: Duck is a protein most cats have had little of, which makes this worth a look for a cat that reacts to the usual things.
• Set in a soft jelly: The texture this range is known for, and the thing a fussy cat either loves or picks around.
• 100% natural ingredients: The brand's claim, at a quality it says is equivalent to human food.
• No colourings, additives or chemical preservatives: Stated by Schesir for the whole of this range.
• Steam-cooked and hand-processed: Which is why the fillets in the tin still look like fillets.

Whether This Is A Complete Food Is Not Stated, So We Will Not Claim It

• Schesir does not call this recipe complete and balanced in its own copy, and we are not going to say it for them.
• That matters, because Schesir says it plainly when it applies. Its Complete and Balanced line says so in the name. Its Complements line says the opposite in the name, and prints a ceiling of two servings a day. This older range sits between the two and says nothing.
• A complementary food fed as a whole diet leaves a cat short, and a cat is less forgiving about that than a dog. So this is worth two minutes before you order rather than a shrug.
• Ask us and we will photograph the feeding panel on the actual pack and tell you what it says. If you want a wet food that is definitely a whole diet, Schesir's Complete and Balanced range says so on the tin and we will point you at it.

What Schesir Claims For This Range, As Their Claim

• 100% natural ingredients, of a quality the brand says is equivalent to those used for human food. That is a claim about sourcing standards, not an invitation to eat it yourself.
• No added colourings, no appetising additives, no chemical preservatives. Chicken the brand says is raised without hormones.
• The best parts of the meat or fish, steam-cooked and hand-processed. That last part is the brand's explanation for why the fillets look like fillets rather than like paste, and on this range you can see it in the tin.

Wet Food And Water, Which Counts For More Here

• A cat is bad at drinking. It evolved to get most of its water from what it caught, and a cat on dry food alone often runs slightly dry for years without anyone noticing.
• In this climate that is worth real money in avoided urinary trouble. Wet food is water going in without the cat having to choose to drink it.
• It also means you are buying water by weight, which is the honest reason a tin looks dear per kilogram next to a bag of kibble.

Good To Know

• A note on the jelly: cats that like it really like it, and cats that do not will lick the fillets clean and leave the rest. Neither is a fault in the food. If yours is the second kind, ask us about the broth and mousse ranges instead.
• Serve at room temperature, cover an opened tin and refrigerate it, and use it within a day or two. Cats refuse cold food and you will think they have gone off it. Do not leave wet food down for hours in a warm room - this matters far more here than in Italy, where it was formulated.
• Ask us for the composition and the analysis and we will photograph them. Most of this older range does not publish either, and the panel is the only thing that settles what a food actually is.
