Schesir Stix Variety Pack Creamy Cat Treats - 6 x 15 g

Schesir Stix Variety Pack Creamy Cat Treats - 6 x 15 g is a pack of six creamy sachets for cats in three flavours - two each of chicken, duck and salmon.

Key Features

• Three flavours, two sachets of each: Chicken, duck and salmon. The sensible way to find out which one your cat actually wants before buying a box of it.
• The duck and salmon sachets carry a second protein: Schesir's duck recipe contains chicken and its salmon recipe contains mackerel. So this pack is not one to use if you are avoiding a specific ingredient.
• Soft, creamy mousse in a 15 g sachet: Which is what makes it work from the hand as well as from a bowl.
• Grain-free: Stated by the brand across the Stix line.
• Serve from the sachet, in the bowl, or stirred through food: All three are the brand's own suggestions, and the first is the one that does something for a nervous cat.
• The brand credits it with helping daily hydration: Which is fair: it is a wet product and a cat that takes it is taking water in.

A Treat Is Calories, And That Is Worth Saying Out Loud

• Schesir's own description calls these an additional snack to supplement a bowl of kibble. They are not a meal and are not built to be one.
• The usual veterinary guideline is that treats should be no more than about a tenth of what a cat eats in a day, with the rest coming from a complete food. A cat getting several of these on top of a full dinner gains weight, and in a neutered indoor cat that happens quietly over a year rather than visibly over a week.
• We would rather tell you that and sell you fewer sachets than have you work it out at the vet. If you want help counting it properly, tell us what your cat weighs and what else it eats.

Where A Creamy Sachet Earns Its Place

• Getting water into a cat. These are wet, and a cat that will take a sachet is taking water it would not have drunk.
• Giving medication. A tablet buried in something this strong-smelling goes down far more easily than one buried in dry food.
• A cat that has stopped eating. The smell and the texture will often get one interested when nothing solid will - and if a cat is off its food for more than a day, that is a vet visit rather than a treat problem.
• A nervous cat. Fifteen grams offered from your hand does more for a cat's opinion of you than anything else we sell.

Good To Know

• One thing we cannot confirm from here: the pack count. The captions on our photographs disagree with the title on every product in this line, which suggests the images came from a different format. Ask us before you order and we will count a pack, because we would rather do that than guess at what you are paying for.
• A sachet is one serving. There is nothing to refrigerate and nothing to go warm in a bowl, which is the practical advantage of the format.
• Ask us for the composition and the analysis and we will photograph them. On a treat the thing worth knowing is the calories per sachet, and that is on the pack rather than in the listing.
