ZuPreem Pure Fun is a blend of fruit, vegetables, nuts and FruitBlend Flavor pellets for conures, caiques, African greys, amazons and eclectus. It is designed for variety and foraging interest, giving a bird different shapes, textures and colours to work through rather than one uniform pellet.

Important: this is not a complete daily diet. ZuPreem's own guidance is that Pure Fun may be fed up to 30% of the total food your bird eats each week. The remaining 70% or more should be a complete pellet such as ZuPreem FruitBlend or Natural.

The reason matters. At 10% protein this blend sits below a complete pellet's 14%, and because it contains distinct pieces, a parrot will pick out the nuts and leave the rest. Fed as a staple it produces exactly the unbalanced, fat-heavy diet that pellets exist to prevent. Fed as the enrichment portion alongside pellets, it gives an intelligent bird something to do.

• Feed up to 30% of the total food your bird eats each week. The rest should be a complete daily pellet.
• Keep fresh food and water available at all times.
• Discard uneaten food before each feeding. Fruit and vegetable pieces spoil faster than dry pellets, particularly in the UAE heat.
• Scattering the blend in a foraging toy rather than a bowl makes it last longer and gives the bird more to do.
