Description

The Ceva Feliway Classic Spray for Cats is the spray version of Feliway Classic: a 60 ml bottle of the same facial pheromone, for the carrier, the car and specific spots at home, where a plug-in diffuser cannot reach.

Key Features

  • 60 ml bottle, approximately 50 sprays.
  • The same F3 facial pheromone as the Classic diffuser, in a form you can take with you.
  • The pack names two signs it targets: scratching and urine spraying.
  • For carriers and car travel: spray 8 to 10 pumps inside the empty carrier or on the seat, then wait 10 to 15 minutes for the alcohol carrier to evaporate before putting your cat in.
  • At home, spray onto doorframes, window sills and the corners or objects a cat is scratching or marking.
  • Each application lasts roughly 4 to 5 hours, so it is reapplied on a long journey.
  • Ceva states that only cats can detect this pheromone - people and dogs are unaffected.

How To Use

  • Shake the bottle, then spray 8 to 10 pumps onto the surface from about 10 cm away.
  • Wait 10 to 15 minutes before letting your cat near the sprayed area, so the alcohol carrier evaporates.
  • Reapply roughly every 4 to 5 hours on a long journey.
  • Never spray it onto your cat, onto a cat already inside the carrier, or onto a scratching post you want them to use.

Good To Know

  • Ceva's own pack carries a warning: FLAMMABLE, EYE IRRITANT. Keep the bottle away from heat and open flame, do not spray near a lit stove, candle or cigarette, do not inhale the spray, and keep it away from eyes and off skin. Read the cautions on the bottle before first use.
  • Never spray it directly onto a cat, and never into a carrier with the cat already inside. The spray is alcohol-based and both the wet surface and the fumes are unpleasant at close range.
  • Always let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes. Putting a cat straight onto a wet surface is the most common reason people think the spray does not work.
  • The alcohol carrier can mark some fabrics and polished or varnished surfaces. Test a hidden corner first.
  • Do not store it in a car in UAE summer heat. Keep it out of direct sun and below 30 C.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Ceva states on the pack that this is not a sedative or a tranquilliser. It does not make a cat drowsy - it changes how safe a place feels to them.
  • Feliway copies a feline pheromone. Ceva states that only cats can detect it - people and dogs are not affected by it.
  • Ceva's own wording on the pack is that all cats are unique and results vary depending on other pets in the home and other environmental factors.
  • It will not fix an underlying problem on its own. Litter tray numbers and placement, enough separate food, water and resting spots, gradual introductions and proper training all still matter - the pheromone makes that work easier, it does not replace it.
  • The rule of thumb for a multi-cat home is one litter tray per cat plus one spare, in separate places, with separate food, water and resting spots. No pheromone will make up for a shortage of those.
  • Straining in the litter tray, crying, or passing little or no urine is an emergency in cats, especially males - see a vet straight away rather than reaching for a spray.
  • A pheromone is environmental support, not a diagnosis. A cat that suddenly starts spraying, hiding or over-grooming may be in pain or unwell, so have a vet rule that out first.
