How To Use

• Plug the diffuser into a wall socket in the room where your dog spends most of their time, vents facing up.
• Leave it running 24 hours a day. Switching it off and on breaks the effect.
• Replace the refill every 30 days, and the diffuser head itself every 6 months.
• One diffuser covers roughly 50-70 m2 (about 700 sq ft) of open space. Closed doors block it, so a crate room or a separate floor usually needs its own unit.

Good To Know

• UAE mains is 220-240 V through UK-style three-pin sockets. Ceva's own label says to use the diffuser on 230-240 V only and never with an extension cord, adapter or voltage converter, and Ceva also sells a 110 V version of the same product for the US market. Check the plug on the unit you receive before you use it, and contact us if it is not the 230-240 V type.
• Ceva's instruction is to always plug the diffuser in with the vents facing up. Plugged in sideways or upside-down it can leak, and Ceva warns of a fire risk. The plug rotates so it still works in a horizontal socket.
• Leave about 1.2 m (4 ft) of clear space around the diffuser. Never plug it in under a shelf or behind a door, curtain or furniture - it stops the pheromone spreading and traps the heat.
• The diffuser gets warm while it is running. Ceva states this is normal and is what evaporates the liquid.
• Ceva states on the pack that this is not a sedative or a tranquilliser. It does not make a dog drowsy - it changes how secure the room feels to them.
• Adaptil copies the pheromone a nursing mother dog produces. It is a dog signal; it has no effect on cats or people.
• Give it time. Ceva's own studies run over a full month, so plug it in and leave it running for at least 30 days before deciding whether it is helping.
• A diffuser only works in the room it is plugged into. For a dog that struggles in the car or at the vet, the Adaptil collar or the transport spray is the right tool - the diffuser stays at home.
• Fireworks, thunder and building noise need planning. Ceva's advice is to start using the diffuser well before the noisy period rather than on the night.
• Training, exercise, routine and gradual desensitisation still do the heavy lifting. The diffuser makes that work easier rather than replacing it.
• Keep out of reach of children, and plug it in somewhere a pet cannot knock it or chew the cable.
• A dog that suddenly becomes anxious, clingy, destructive or reactive may be in pain or unwell. Have a vet check them before assuming it is behavioural.
