Description

Inaba Churu Pops Tuna with Chicken Cat Treats - 4 Tubes (60g) is a pack of four tubes of Inaba's Churu Pops in tuna with chicken. Each tube holds a soft, chewy treat set in a juicy jelly that you squeeze out by hand or over a meal. The pack is 60g in total.

Key Features

  • Four tubes, 60g: the pack holds four 15g tubes, which is what the net weight on the front works out to.
  • Jelly, not purée: Inaba markets Churu Pops as a moist and chewy treat set in a juicy jelly, which is a different texture from the smooth Churu purée tubes.
  • Tear and squeeze: the tube opens at the top and you squeeze it out, either straight from the tube or into a bowl.
  • About 6.5 kcal a tube: small enough to use as a reward without unsettling a measured diet.
  • High moisture: a wet treat adds a little water to the day, which helps most with cats on a dry diet.
  • Tuna and chicken: the pack lists water, tuna and chicken as the first three ingredients, with natural flavours, carrageenan and gums setting the jelly.

Ways To Use It

  • Hand-feed straight from the tube. Inaba's own pack points at this as a way to build a habit of being handled, which is useful with a nervous cat.
  • Squeeze it over kibble to get a fussy cat started on a meal it has been circling.
  • Use it as the reward in a short training or carrier-desensitising session, where something a cat has to lick keeps it in place longer than a biscuit.

Good To Know

  • This is a treat, not a meal. Inaba labels the range a complement to a complete food, so it sits on top of the daily ration rather than replacing part of it.
  • Keep treats to roughly a tenth of what your cat eats in a day and take the difference off the main meal.
  • The Churu Pops recipe uses carrageenan to set the jelly. Inaba's Churu for Kitten and Churu Bisque packs are both marked no carrageenan, if that is something you avoid.
  • Serve it as soon as it is opened. Anything left over goes in the fridge and is used the same day; these have no preservatives holding them together.
  • A wet treat is not a substitute for a water bowl. Keep fresh water down, especially if your cat eats mostly dry food.
  • A tube of this is one of the easier ways to hide a tablet, if your vet confirms the medication can be given with food.
