Description

Inaba Churu for Kitten Cat Treats - 4 Tubes (56g) is Inaba's Churu made for kittens, in chicken or tuna. The pack holds four 14g tubes, 56g in all, and is marked for kittens under one year old. It is a lickable purée you squeeze from the tube by hand or over food.

Key Features

  • Made for kittens under one: Inaba prints the age on the front, so this is the version to pick while a kitten is still growing.
  • Four 14g tubes: 56g in the pack, and a single tube is a sensible portion for a small cat.
  • Chicken or tuna: two recipes, so you can find out early which one your kitten prefers.
  • Smooth purée: easy for a small mouth, and simple to lick off a finger or a spoon.
  • No carrageenan or artificial preservatives: both marked on the pack.
  • High moisture: useful while a kitten is learning to drink properly from a bowl.

Using It With A Kitten

  • A tube a day at most to start with, and less for a very young kitten. A kitten's daily calorie allowance is small, so a treat eats into it quickly.
  • Hand-feeding from the tube is a good way to get a kitten used to being handled before it needs to be, such as before a first vet visit.
  • Treats should not crowd out a complete kitten food. Growth needs a balanced diet, and this is not one.
  • Once your cat passes a year, Inaba's adult Churu range covers the same idea.

Good To Know

  • This is a treat, not a meal. Inaba labels the range a complement to a complete food, so it sits on top of the daily ration rather than replacing part of it.
  • Serve it as soon as it is opened. Anything left over goes in the fridge and is used the same day; these have no preservatives holding them together.
  • A wet treat is not a substitute for a water bowl. Keep fresh water down, especially if your cat eats mostly dry food.
  • Introduce it over a few days. A rich treat given all at once can loosen a cat's stools even when nothing is wrong with it.
  • A kitten that will not eat, or has diarrhoea for more than a day, needs a vet rather than a change of treat. Kittens dehydrate quickly.
