The Dymax Power Head Pump is a range of submersible power heads for circulation, running filters, fountains and sump returns, from PH200 up to PH5000.

Key Features

  • Submersible, fully sealed motor for freshwater and marine use
  • Eight models; the number in each name is its rated flow in litres per hour (e.g. PH1800 β‰ˆ 1,800 L/h)
  • Works as a circulation pump, filter pump or return pump

Choosing A Size

  • For general circulation, aim for a turnover of roughly 5–10 times the tank volume per hour; reef tanks often want more.
  • Rated flow falls as the pump pushes water higher β€” choose a bigger model for sump returns.

Good To Know

  • Never run a pump dry β€” it must be fully submerged before it is switched on.
  • Clean the impeller and intake every month or two; debris cuts flow and wears the pump.
  • Unplug all equipment in the tank before putting your hands in the water.
  • Leave a drip loop in every power cable, so water running down the cord drips off before it reaches the socket.
  • Plug aquarium equipment into a socket protected by an RCD (earth-leakage breaker).
