Georplast Cupido Cat Litter Scoop with Heart Holder - Grey

The Georplast Cupido Cat Litter Scoop with Heart Holder is a slotted litter scoop that comes with its own heart-shaped holder, so the scoop lives somewhere other than balanced on the edge of the tray or lying on the floor.

Key Features

• Slotted blade that sieves clean litter back into the tray
• Heart-shaped holder keeps the scoop upright and off the floor
• Moulded plastic, easy to rinse and dry
• Two colours: Grey and Red
• Both colours currently in stock

Scooping Properly

• Scoop at least once a day, every day. It is the single thing that controls litter tray smell, and no litter or box design replaces it
• Let a fresh clump sit for a minute or two before lifting it. Scooping too early is why a clump crumbles and leaves wet crumbs behind
• Sieve rather than shovel - lift, shake gently, and let the clean litter fall back through the slots
• Top the tray back up to depth afterwards. Every scoop removes litter as well as waste

Keeping The Scoop Clean

• Rinse and dry it after use. A scoop that lives damp in a holder grows things
• Wash it properly whenever you wash the tray, with hot water and unscented detergent
• Keep one scoop per tray in a multi-cat house rather than carrying one between them

Who Makes It

• Georplast s.r.l. is an Italian manufacturer founded in 1970, based at Mezzago just outside Milan
• They injection-mould their own plastic rather than buying it in, and the whole pet range is made in Italy
• Design is done with an Italian studio, which is why the trays and carriers look less utilitarian than most of the category

Good To Know

• Cat faeces can carry toxoplasmosis. Anyone pregnant or immunosuppressed should avoid handling the tray where possible, and everyone should wash their hands properly afterwards
• Keep the scoop out of reach of children and away from food preparation areas
• Plastic wears out. Once a tray or bowl is visibly scratched, those scratches hold bacteria and odour that washing will not shift - replace it rather than scrubbing harder
• Colours vary by batch and the photograph is a guide. Pick on size first - the colour is the part that matters least to the cat
