Description
Little One Wood Chips - 800g is Little One's untreated wood chip bedding for small mammal cages, in an 800g pack.
Key Features
- Untreated wood: plain chips with nothing added, which matters in a cage where the animal chews the floor.
- Absorbent: takes up moisture, so the base of the enclosure stays drier between cleans.
- Top-up pack: 800g, sized for a cage change rather than a bulk bale.
- For rodents and rabbits: a floor layer for hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits.
Using It
- Lay a few centimetres across the floor so the animal can dig into the bedding instead of walking on top of it.
- Spot-clean the wet corner daily and change the whole layer weekly, sooner if the cage is full or small.
- Keep a soft nesting material as well. Chips are the floor; most small pets still want something to build a nest out of.
Good To Know
- Dust is the one thing to watch with any wood bedding, because small mammals have sensitive airways. Shake a handful out before filling the cage, and if a pack is visibly dusty, use it somewhere well ventilated or change to a different bedding.
- A rabbit or guinea pig will eat some of its bedding, which is normal with plain untreated wood but another reason not to use anything scented or treated.
- Keep the pack closed and dry between changes.
- Sold as a single 800g pack; there is no size to choose on this page.
