Using Them

Good To Know

• This one is for omnivorous rodents. Animal protein does not belong in a grass eater's gut, whatever collection a product turns up in.
• Treats are a small part of the day. The complete food and the hay come first, and a snack that pushes those out does more harm than its vitamins do good.
• Mealworms are rich. Too many at once is a common cause of a loose dropping the next day, which is why they are counted and not poured.
• Introduce any new treat in a small amount and watch the droppings for a day or two before giving more.
