Key Features

• 24 x 24 cm base and 36 cm tall, which M-PETS marks XS on the swing tag.
• The pillar is 5 cm across and wrapped in sisal, thin enough for kitten claws to get a proper grip on.
• Two toys, and they are not the same thing. The Feather version carries a 5 cm ball on a steel spring that snaps back when it is hit; the Pompom version has a soft pompom hanging on a cord.

Good To Know

• Start them early and start them low. A kitten that learns sisal at eight weeks is a cat that never learns sofa at eight months.
• A 36 cm post gets outgrown. Expect to buy a full-height one within the year and keep this one, because a second post in a second room is never wasted.
• Of the two toys, the sprung ball is the safer one to leave out. A pompom on a cord is a cord, and kittens swallow cord.
• A light base and an enthusiastic kitten slide across tile. Stand it against a wall or on a rug.
• Rub a little catnip into the rope on day one if the kitten ignores it. Showing them what the thing is for is most of the work.
