Description
The Swamp Cooler Vest is the fullest-coverage piece in Ruffwear's cooling range. The light fabric reflects the sun and shades the dog, and soaking it charges the evaporative cooling; when it dries out you soak it again. Side-release buckles get it on and off quickly, and a lead portal means it can go over a harness.
Key Features
- Soak-activated evaporative cooling.
- Light-coloured fabric reflects the sun and provides shade.
- Side-release buckles for quick on and off.
- Lead portal so the vest can be worn over a harness.
- External air mesh updated for durability and water absorption.
- Construction holds more water in the high-exposure areas for a longer-lasting charge.
Sizing
| Size | Girth |
|---|---|
| XS | 43–56 cm |
| S | 56–69 cm |
| M | 69–81 cm |
| L | 81–91 cm |
| XL | 91–107 cm |
Using It Safely
Soak it, put it on, and re-soak it when it dries. Evaporative cooling does less in humid air, so treat it as a help rather than a solution, and keep to shade, water and the cooler ends of the day.
Good To Know
- The lead portal lets a harness clip through, so the vest does not have to come off to attach a leash.
- Soaked, it holds a surprising amount of water. Wring it out over grass rather than over a car seat.
- A second listing carries this same vest in XS only.
