Schesir Chicken in Broth Wet Cat Food - 6 x 70 g

Schesir Chicken in Broth Wet Cat Food - 6 x 70 g is a wet food for adult cats with chicken as the main ingredient in broth.

Key Features

• Chicken as the main ingredient: One named meat and no second protein laid over it, which makes this the plainest thing in the broth line.
• Steamed and hand-processed in its own broth: Which is why the fillets hold together instead of turning to paste.
• No added preservatives, colourings or dyes: The brand's claim across this line.
• Cruelty-free, recyclable packaging: Both stated by the brand for this line.

Two Products In This Same Range Are Labelled Complementary

• Schesir does not state the feeding class on this particular listing, so we are not going to state it for them.
• What we can tell you is specific: two other products in this same broth format, both 6 x 70 g cans, carry Schesir's own wording - one opens with "complementary wet food for adult cats" and the other says to serve it as a complementary meal or treat. Same format, same brand, same kind of product.
• So the honest reading is that this is probably a complementary food too: something to feed alongside a complete diet rather than as the whole of it. We are flagging it rather than asserting it.
• Ask us before you order and we will photograph this pack's own feeding panel. If what you want is a wet food that is definitely a whole diet, Schesir's Complete and Balanced range says so on the tin and we will point you at it.

What The Broth Is Actually For

• Schesir's own claim for this line is that it promotes extra hydration, and that is the real point of it rather than a marketing line.
• A cat is bad at drinking. It evolved to get most of its water from what it caught, and in this climate a cat that runs slightly dry for years is a urinary problem waiting to happen. A thin broth is water a cat will take without being asked.
• It also makes this the easiest thing in the Schesir range to pour over a dry food, which is how most people actually use it.

What Schesir Claims For This Line, As Their Claim

• 100% natural ingredients, hand-processed and steamed in their own cooking broth. No added preservatives, colourings or dyes.
• Cruelty-free production, which the brand states for this line.
• 100% recyclable packaging, which the brand states for this line specifically.

Good To Know

• One named meat, but a recipe description is not an ingredient panel. For an elimination diet ask us for the panel and talk to your vet.
• One thing we cannot confirm from here: whether this pack holds six cans or seven. Our own records disagree with each other on it. Ask us before you order and we will count a box, because we would rather do that than guess at what you are paying for.
• Serve at room temperature, cover an opened can and refrigerate it, and use it within a day or two. Cats refuse cold food and you will think they have gone off it. Do not leave wet food down for hours in a warm room.
• Ask us for the composition, the analysis and the feeding panel and we will photograph them. On this line the feeding panel is the thing worth seeing, because it is what tells you whether it is a meal or a topper.
