Schesir Tuna with Aloe Wet Puppy Food - 10 x 150 g

Schesir Tuna with Aloe Wet Puppy Food - 10 x 150 g is a wet food for puppies made with tuna fillets and aloe in jelly.

Key Features

• Formulated for puppies: The brand describes it as a formula designed specifically for puppies.
• Tuna fillets as the named meat: Useful for a puppy that reacts to chicken, and unusual in a puppy food.
• Sunflower oil for omega fatty acids: Named by the brand as the oil source rather than left as 'oils and fats', which is worth something on a growth food.
• Aloe in the recipe: Credited by the brand with digestive support. Short section below.
• A soft jelly texture: Which is what makes this range easy to mix through a dry food, and what a fussy dog usually responds to.

Whether This Is A Complete Food Is Not Stated, So We Will Not Claim It

• Schesir does not describe this range as complete and balanced anywhere in its own copy, and we are not going to put words in their mouth.
• That matters, because Schesir does say it elsewhere in those exact terms: on its Taste The World cans and on its Bio range. When a brand states it on one product and not on another, the silence is worth noticing.
• A complementary food is meant to be fed alongside a complete diet rather than as the whole diet. If this turns out to be one and you feed it as a sole diet, a dog is short of things it needs - so this is not a detail to shrug at.
• What we will do rather than guess: ask us and we will photograph the feeding panel on the actual pack before you order, and tell you exactly what it says. If you want a wet food that is definitely a complete meal, the Taste The World and Bio ranges say so on the label and we will point you straight at them.

On The Aloe

• Schesir puts aloe in this recipe and credits it with digestive support. That is the brand's claim, and we are passing it on as theirs rather than endorsing it.
• You will see aloe described as known for aiding digestion in a lot of pet food copy. We cannot point you at the evidence behind that, so we are not going to repeat it as though it were settled.
• It is a small part of a recipe that is mostly tuna and water. Buy this because your dog likes it, not because of the aloe.

Wet Food And Water, Which Counts For More Here

• A wet food is mostly water. In this climate that is water going into a dog without the dog having to decide to drink it, and that is a real benefit rather than a marketing one.
• It also means you are buying water by weight, which is the honest reason a tray or a can looks dear per kilogram next to a bag of kibble.

Good To Know

• The completeness question matters more on a puppy food than on anything else in this range. A growing puppy fed short of what it needs grows badly rather than slowly. Ask us for the pack photo before you make this a puppy's main food. The Schesir Bio puppy tins state complete and balanced on the label if that is what you need.
• An all-fish diet is not ideal for a growing puppy in any case. If you are using this, rotate it with something else and tell us what, and we will sanity-check the whole diet with you.
• Cover an opened can or tray, refrigerate it, and use it within a day or two. Let it come back to room temperature first, because dogs refuse fridge-cold food and you will think they have gone off it. Do not leave wet food down for hours in a warm room.
• Ask us for the ingredient list and the analysis and we will photograph them. Most of these do not publish theirs, and on this range the panel is the thing worth seeing.
