Whimzees Toothbrush Star Large Dental Dog Treats - 6 pcs

Whimzees Toothbrush Star Large Dental Dog Treats is Whimzees' toothbrush-shaped daily dental chew — a bristled head and a long ridged handle, made from potato starch and plant fibre rather than rawhide or meat.

Key Benefits

• Shaped like a toothbrush, with a bristled head and grooves down the handle that reach the gaps a biscuit never touches.
• Whimzees' claim is that the shape and the firm vegetable texture reduce plaque and tartar and freshen breath when the chew is given daily.
• Whimzees label the recipe grain-free, hypo-allergenic and vegetarian, with no meat, wheat, corn, dairy, sugar, egg, artificial colour, flavour or preservative added. It does contain malt extract.
• A mix of three colours in the bag — green, terracotta and tan. The colour comes from annatto and alfalfa, not dye, and all three taste the same.
• Long enough that most dogs settle down and work at it, which is the point: the cleaning comes from chewing time.

Which Size

• This is the Large pack — Whimzees size it for dogs 18–27 kg (40–60 lb).
• 6 chews, 360 g net.
• About 173 kcal per chew. One a day is the serving.
• At one chew a day that is 6 days' worth.
• Every size of Toothbrush Star comes in the same 360 g pack — the size changes how big each chew is, not how much chew you get. The smaller the size, the more chews in the bag and the longer it lasts.

Potato Starch, Glycerin, Powdered Cellulose, Lecithin, Yeast, Malt Extract, Sweet Lupine Meal, Annatto Extract Colour, Alfalfa Extract.

Good To Know

• One chew is the whole daily serving. It is a treat, not a meal — count it towards the day's calories and take a little off the food bowl if your dog gains weight easily.
• Whimzees' own warning, worth repeating: swallowing any piece without chewing it properly can be harmful or even fatal. Stay in the room, and take away the last stub if your dog tries to gulp it.
• A daily chew works between brushes — it does not replace brushing or a dental check. If your dog's breath changes suddenly, or the gums look red, sore or bleed, that is a vet visit, not a chew.
• Keep the pack sealed and out of the sun. These are starch chews and a hot car or a sunny shelf will soften them — worth knowing through a UAE summer.
• Made in Holland.
• Whimzees have changed their size bands over the years and older bags print different weight ranges. The chart above is their current one — if the bag you receive says something different, go by the bag.
