ZuPreem Primate Diet Dry is a highly palatable, nutritionally balanced dry diet formulated for non-human primates and great apes. It is intended as the foundation of the diet rather than a supplement to it.

Palatability matters more here than it does for most animals. Primates are selective feeders and will readily reject food they dislike, which makes a diet that is nutritionally complete on paper worthless in practice. This one is formulated to be eaten willingly, so the nutrition actually reaches the animal.

Important: Callitrichids

This diet is not suitable on its own for callitrichids — marmosets and tamarins. These species require considerably more vitamin D3 than other primates and need a diet formulated for them. Feeding a standard primate diet to a callitrichid risks metabolic bone disease.

Feeding Guide

• Feed free choice to growing animals and animals not prone to obesity.
• For all others, offer measured meals rather than leaving food down.
• On average, most primates eat approximately 1 lb (450 g) per 35 lb (16 kg) of bodyweight per day.
• Adjust the amount to maintain each animal's optimum body condition.
• Always provide clean, fresh water.
