Carnilove True Fresh Fish & Turkey is a complete dry food for sterilised cats, built on 44% fresh fish and 26% fresh turkey rather than dried meat meal.

Sterilisation changes a cat's metabolism. Energy requirements drop by roughly a quarter, while appetite often does not, and the result is the steady weight gain seen in so many neutered cats. This recipe answers that with added fibre for satiety and a moderate 13% fat, so a cat feels full on fewer calories rather than simply being given less of a rich food.

Fish is the lead protein, which brings the omega-3 fatty acids with it rather than relying on supplementation alone. It also leaves out chicken meat and chicken fat entirely — useful if your cat reacts to chicken, the most common protein sensitivity in cats and a hard one to avoid, since chicken fat appears in most foods even when chicken meat does not.

Prebiotics, pumpkin and yucca support digestion and cut stool odour, and there is 2,500 mg/kg of taurine, which cats must get from food.

Feeding Guide

• Follow the feeding table printed on the bag, which sets the daily amount by your cat's bodyweight.
• Measure the daily amount out rather than topping the bowl up — free-feeding by refill is how sterilised cats gain weight.
• Adjust to keep your cat in lean condition. You should be able to feel the ribs without pressing.
• Introduce gradually over 7 to 10 days when switching foods.
• Always provide fresh drinking water, and consider adding wet food to the diet. Cats on dry food alone drink less than they need.

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place.
• Reseal the bag after each use.
