The Fida Reflective Step-In Dog Harness is a step-in harness — the dog puts its front legs through two openings and the harness buckles over the back, which suits dogs that dislike anything going over their head.

Size Guide

• XS — chest girth 40.6–45.7 cm (16–18 in)
• S — chest girth 48.3–55.9 cm (19–22 in)
• M — chest girth 58.4–68.6 cm (23–27 in)
• Measure the girth all the way round the chest at its widest point, just behind the front legs
• Measure your dog rather than guessing from its breed. Two dogs of the same breed can be two sizes apart

Fitting

• Two fingers should slide flat under the strap. Tighter than that rubs; looser than that comes off over the head
• Step-in harnesses ride forward if they are loose. If the chest panel is creeping up towards the throat, tighten the girth rather than the chest

Good To Know

• Back-clip harnesses do not reduce pulling — they make it comfortable for the dog to lean into the lead. For a dog that pulls, a front clip or training is the answer
• Reflective strips help drivers see a dog at night. They do nothing in daylight, and nothing if the dog is behind a parked car
• Check under the front legs for rubbing after the first few walks, which is where every harness chafes first
• A harness a dog can back out of is worse than no harness. Fit it properly before the first walk near a road
• Wipe the webbing with warm water and mild soap and let it dry fully. Do not machine wash or tumble dry the hardware
