JUWEL FilterGrid Fine Mesh Intake Slot is a fine mesh cover for the intake slot of a JUWEL Bioflow filter.

Key Features

• Stops small things being drawn in: A bare intake slot will take shrimp, fry and a small loach. A fine mesh over it is the difference between a nursery tank working and not.
• The thing to fit before you breed anything: Nobody fits one until they have lost fry to the filter. If you are spawning fish or keeping shrimp, fit it first.
• It will clog, and that is fine: Fine mesh catches debris. Wipe it when you do a water change, because a blocked grid starves the pump as surely as a blocked pad does.
• Check it fits your Bioflow: Tell us which JUWEL aquarium or which Bioflow you have and we will confirm before we dispatch.

If The Filter Has Slowed Down

• It is usually blocked rather than broken. Check the mechanical pad first, the intake slot second and the impeller third.
• A filter that has stopped altogether is most often an impeller jammed with grit or a snail shell. Pull it, rinse it, check the shaft is not scored.

Good To Know

• Add it to your water change routine. A fine grid needs wiping far more often than a bare slot does.
• It does not replace a pre-filter sponge if you are keeping very small shrimp. Ask us if that is what you are doing.
