PURINA PRO PLAN VETERINARY DIETS JM Joint Mobility is a complete dry food for dogs with joint problems, formulated for dogs of all ages including puppies and breeds prone to joint sensitivity.

It works on joints from three directions. Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA at 0.8% act against joint inflammation, glucosamine supports cartilage health, and raised antioxidants, with vitamin E at 940 IU/kg and vitamin C at 140 mg/kg, counteract the oxidative stress produced in inflamed joints. Purina's stated outcome is improved ground reactive force, which in practice means a better gait in a dog whose mobility has become impaired.

The fourth mechanism is the one owners tend to overlook: weight. At 30% protein against only 12% fat, this doubles as a weight loss diet, and every kilo a dog loses is load taken off the joints. For an overweight dog with arthritis, that is often the single most effective thing you can change.

Feeding Guide

  • Daily amounts depend on your dog's weight and whether the goal is weight maintenance or weight loss. The feeding table is printed on the pack.
  • If using it to reduce weight, feed to your dog's target weight rather than its current weight, and weigh the dog regularly.
  • Split the daily ration across two meals.
  • Joint benefits build over time. Give the diet several weeks before judging it.
  • Keep fresh drinking water available at all times.

Veterinary diet. This is a therapeutic food intended for dogs with diagnosed joint problems. Use it under veterinary supervision, and have your dog examined before starting, since limping and stiffness have causes that need diagnosing rather than feeding around. Your vet should review your dog periodically while it stays on this diet.

Storage

  • Reseal the bag after each use and store in a cool, dry place.
