The Georplast UFO Interactive Cat Toy with Two Balls is a low, flat circular track toy with two captive balls - the same idea as the Tricky with a lower profile, which suits a cat that plays lying down.
Key Features
- Two balls running in a low circular track
- Flat profile, so a cat can lie beside it and bat at the balls
- Balls are captive - nothing to lose and nothing to swallow
- Non-toxic moulded plastic
- Three colours: Blue, Green and Pink
- Green is in stock; Blue and Pink are out of stock
Getting The Most From A Track Toy
- Play happens in short bursts. Two or three five-minute sessions a day beats leaving a toy out permanently and hoping
- Put it away between sessions for the first week or two. A toy that is always available becomes furniture
- Catnip or silvervine on the first introduction helps. After that the movement does the work
- Most cats play hardest at dawn and dusk. Fighting that is harder than working with it
One Ball Or Two
- UFO and Tricky both have two balls. UFO sits lower and flatter; Tricky is taller
- Vertigo has a single ball and is the cheapest
- A low profile suits older cats and cats that play lying down rather than pouncing
Who Makes It
- Georplast s.r.l. is an Italian manufacturer founded in 1970, based at Mezzago just outside Milan
- They injection-mould their own plastic rather than buying it in, and the whole pet range is made in Italy
- Design is done with an Italian studio, which is why the trays and carriers look less utilitarian than most of the category
Good To Know
- Check it over regularly for cracks or loose pieces, and replace it if the track or housing splits
- Supervise a cat that chews toys rather than batting them
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Nothing here needs more than that
- Colours vary by batch and the photograph is a guide. Pick on size first - the colour is the part that matters least to the cat
