Georplast Vertigo Interactive Cat Toy - Beige

The Georplast Vertigo Interactive Cat Toy is the single-ball track toy in the range and the cheapest of the three - the sensible one to try first if your cat has never had a track toy.

Key Features

• One ball running in a moulded track
• Ball is captive, so there is nothing to lose or swallow
• The least expensive of Georplast's three track toys
• Solo play - the cat does not need you involved
• Three colours: Beige, Green and Light Blue
• All three colours currently in stock

Getting The Most From A Track Toy

• Play happens in short bursts. Two or three five-minute sessions a day beats leaving a toy out permanently and hoping
• Put it away between sessions for the first week or two. A toy that is always available becomes furniture
• Catnip or silvervine on the first introduction helps. After that the movement does the work
• Most cats play hardest at dawn and dusk. Fighting that is harder than working with it

One Ball Or Two

• Vertigo has one ball and is the cheapest. Start here
• Tricky and UFO both have two balls, which gives a cat more to track
• If your cat loses interest in the single ball within a week, the format is not the problem - try rotating it away and bringing it back, before buying a second one

Who Makes It

• Georplast s.r.l. is an Italian manufacturer founded in 1970, based at Mezzago just outside Milan
• They injection-mould their own plastic rather than buying it in, and the whole pet range is made in Italy
• Design is done with an Italian studio, which is why the trays and carriers look less utilitarian than most of the category

Good To Know

• Check it over regularly for cracks or loose pieces, and replace it if the track or housing splits
• Supervise a cat that chews toys rather than batting them
• Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Nothing here needs more than that
• Colours vary by batch and the photograph is a guide. Pick on size first - the colour is the part that matters least to the cat
