Farmina N&D Prime Lamb & Blueberry Adult Mini Dry Dog Food - 2.5kg

The Farmina N&D Prime Lamb & Blueberry Adult Mini Dry Dog Food is a grain-free dry food for adult small-breed dogs, with lamb as the lead protein and a small kibble sized for small jaws.

Key Features

• Fresh boneless lamb (26%) and dried lamb (25%) head the ingredient list, with fresh and dried herring and dried egg behind them
• Analytical constituents: 34% protein, 18% fat, 2.6% fibre, 8.3% ash, 9% moisture, 1.4% calcium, 0.9% phosphorus. Farmina puts the energy at 4,330 kcal/kg
• Omega-6 at 3.3% and omega-3 at 0.9%, largely from herring oil
• Grain-free, with sweet potato as the carbohydrate and pea fibre, inulin and fructo-oligosaccharides for digestion
• Dried blueberry (0.5%), apple, pomegranate, orange, spinach, carrot, lucerne, psyllium (0.3%) and turmeric root (0.2%)
• Glucosamine at 1,200 mg/kg and chondroitin sulphate at 900 mg/kg
• Made by Farmina, an Italian pet-food company based at Nola, near Naples

Feeding

• Feed to the table printed on the bag, by weight and activity, and weigh the portion rather than scooping it
• Change over across about seven days, mixing a little more of the new food in each day. A sudden switch usually means loose stools
• Split the daily amount across two meals. Small breeds are prone to low blood sugar on one large meal a day
• Always leave fresh, clean drinking water available

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place and reseal the bag after each use. Grain-free kibble is high in fat and goes stale once air reaches it

Good To Know

• At 4,330 kcal/kg this is concentrated. A 5 kg dog needs a surprisingly small measured portion — use kitchen scales, not a scoop, or the weight creeps on
• Lamb leads the recipe, but it also contains herring and egg. It is not a single-protein elimination diet
• Grain-free is a formulation choice, not a medical one. Most pets digest grain perfectly well, and a suspected food allergy needs a vet-supervised elimination diet rather than a switch to grain-free
• The kibble is small by design. A medium or large dog will bolt it without chewing — the Medium & Maxi version of the same recipe is the better fit
• The full composition and the current feeding table are printed on the bag. Farmina revises recipes from time to time, so the pack is the binding version
