• DHA at 0.5% — the long-chain omega-3 that matters for brain and retinal development while a kitten is growing
• Farmina's own feeding sheet gives 4,204 kcal/kg, with one cup weighing 98 g at 412 kcal

Feeding

• From Farmina's table: a 1 kg kitten aged 1–3 months takes 36–45 g a day, a 2 kg kitten 63–72 g; at 4–6 months a 2.5 kg kitten takes 63–68 g; at 7–12 months a 4 kg kitten takes 63–68 g
• A gestating queen of about 3 kg takes 45–80 g a day and one of about 5 kg takes 65–110 g. A lactating queen is fed ad libitum
• Soften the kibble with warm water for kittens around weaning age
• Kittens eat little and often — three or four small meals a day suits them better than one large one
• Always leave fresh, clean drinking water available

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place and reseal the bag after each use. Grain-free kibble is high in fat and goes stale once air reaches it

Good To Know

• Keep kittens on kitten food until roughly twelve months. Moving to adult food early short-changes them on protein and calories during growth
• The 10 kg bag is a false economy for a single kitten. Once opened, grain-free kibble oxidises, and one kitten will not get through 10 kg before the fat starts to go stale
• Contains fish and egg as well as chicken
• A kitten that stops eating, has diarrhoea for more than a day, or is not gaining weight needs a vet quickly. Kittens dehydrate fast and have almost no reserves
