PURINA PRO PLAN LIVECLEAR Kitten is a complete diet for kittens under a year that also reduces the allergens in cat hair and dander. The active ingredient is egg yolk powder, which contains a protein that binds Fel d 1, the major cat allergen, in the kitten's saliva. When the kitten grooms, less active allergen transfers to the coat.

Purina's published result is an average 47% reduction in allergens on hair and dander, starting in the third week of daily feeding. Starting a kitten on it is the most useful time to begin, since the reduction only holds while the cat stays on the food.

Feeding Guide

Daily amounts by age.

• Feed it as the only food. The allergen reduction depends on the kitten eating this daily. Mixing in another food dilutes the effect.
• Allow three weeks before expecting a difference, and keep going.
• Feed little and often. A kitten's stomach is small.
• Keep fresh drinking water available at all times.
• Move to LiveClear adult food at around twelve months to maintain the effect.
