The Flamingo Silica Cat Litter, Coarse Grains is a lightweight, non-clumping silica gel litter with large 6-12 mm grains, made by Flamingo from quartz sand, oxygen and water. It comes in 10 litre and 15 litre bags.

Good To Know

• Scoop out the yellowed grains and any solids daily, and stir the rest so fresh grains come to the top.
• Change the whole tray once most of the grains look yellow or the tray starts to smell. Flamingo puts this at once every 4 days to once every 2 weeks, depending on the number of cats and trays.
• Change litter types gradually. Mix the new litter into the old over a week or so, because cats can refuse a tray that suddenly feels different. Some cats dislike the feel of coarse crystals underfoot.
• Do not flush silica litter.
• Keep the bag sealed. Silica pulls moisture from humid air, which uses it up before it reaches the tray.
• Straining in the tray, crying, or going outside the tray needs a vet - this is an emergency in male cats.
