Howbone Mini Bone Dog Chews - 270g - Chicken

Howbone Mini Bone Dog Chews - 270g is a 270g pouch holding 30 petite-size bone-shaped chews, sold in chicken or beef. The pieces are smaller than the ones in Howbone's Small Bone pack, which holds 15 regular-size chews in the same weight, so this is the version for a smaller mouth.

Key Features

• 30 pieces: twice as many chews as the Small Bone pack at the same 270g, because each one is smaller.
• Petite size: marked on the pack, and the reason to pick this over the regular-size bone for a toy or small breed.
• Chicken or beef: the same two flavours as the larger bone.
• No added sugar or salt: Howbone states the recipe is free of added sugar, salt and artificial preservatives.
• Lasts longer per bag: at one or two a day, 30 pieces stretch further than 15.

Good To Know

• Smaller pieces are swallowed more easily. Watch a determined dog that tries to take a whole chew down rather than work at it.
• Howbone states that these are not suitable for dogs under six months old.
• Howbone lists added vitamins, minerals, glucosamine and chondroitin. At one or two pieces a day those amounts are small, so take them as part of the recipe rather than as a joint treatment. If your dog needs joint support, ask your vet about a proper supplement instead.
• Stay in the room while your dog works on a chew. Take the last piece away once it is small enough to swallow whole, and keep fresh water down.
• Treats are extra calories. Keep them to roughly a tenth of what your dog eats in a day and take the difference off the main meal.
• Press the pack closed again after each use and keep it somewhere cool and dry. Left open, these dry out and lose the smell that makes a dog want them.
